Herb Kurowa

Traditional COA of Kurow

The Coat of Arms of Kurow and Commune of Kurow consists of white rooster with gold crest, bill, talons and white handkerchief in a red field.

History[]

The first COA of Kurow (from January 6, 1442) depicted the rooster without the handkerchief (probably because the Polish surname Kurowski who was owner of Kurow comes from the word kur (cock)). In 1464 the handkerchief was added to the coat of arms to form the COA of the Zbaski family (they were the owners of Kurow from 1464 to 1683).
